We just love TikiBoo Kids blog and here is a great tip to design your own designer jeans for kids. Kathryn shows you step by step on how to JAZZ up your old kids jeans that may be too short now, have a hole, a stain… whatever!
I just loved this as so many of us are and will be hit by the economy, but now you can still have unique designer kids clothing… its now your design! A great project you and the kids can design together! Got some pants your little one doesn’t quite like… jazz them up together and save a bundle! Thanks Kathryn…. I guess now you may have some “ooh La La” designs in mind… your trip sounded fab!
Kathryn states…
“I’m sure most of us have a pair of jeans hanging around which fit around the tummy – those adjustable waists rock – but are too short in the legs. Or maybe you got lucky like me and found a pair at k-mart reduced to $3! Here is a way to get an extra season from the jeans, or simply a way to create a very cool addition to a little wardrobe and use up fabric scraps. For a boy, add a cuff instead of the ruffle.”

I almost threw out a couple of Kate’s jeans before I read Kathryn’s tutorial. Such a brilliant idea!!! So now they are sitting back in the cupboard, awaiting resurrection. Knowing me though, they could be sitting there a while

These jeans look gorgeous – unfortunately my 9 month old daughter hasn’t even owned a pair of jeans yet! When she grows up I will definitely have to remember to recycle them like this when they become outgrown. So unique!

What a fabulous idea – my little poppet only gets taller not any chubbier, so it’s a great idea to extend the life of jeans, which we all know last forever!!

What a fantastic way to extend the life of a pair of jeans. My kids only grow up, not out – lucky them. Embellished jeans would be a fabulous idea…if only I could sew!
