FEATURED DESIGNER
Recently I had the pleasure of being a nominated reviewer and for Tiana to “road test” of the delightful brand Cornflowerblue.    I only became aware of this business very recently so I am so pleased to review an Australian desingner in Organic baby and childrens clothing.
Tiana above trialling the Ondine Dress.
.
You can see what both Tiana and I thought about the dress.  She wore it a lot during the day and went out to dinner and had many people comment on her and the dress.
.
One lady across the next table was captivated by the colour (and Tiana’s eyes) and was taken back when  I explained all about the organic side.  She never knew organic baby and kids clothes could be so pretty, stylish and affordable.  She went away with the website address!  I am sure there are lots of people who think that… so its great to see new designers and Australian businesses coming up with pretty, cool, hip and funky kids organic clothes that mums and kids both like, thats affordable, helping the environment and  other communities.
.
I would like to thank cornflowerblue… its going to be one of Tiana’s fav dresses this summer… and believe me… she is fussy!  Hate to think what her teenage years will be like.  Oh, speaking of tweens… its great as this Australian designer baby and kids label goes up to a size 12. YAY!!!   VERY COOL.
.
We were asked a few questions… see the responses below:
.

Fabric:
Elizabeth: Definitely high quality. Soft, silky and light. Easy wearing for a summers day. I like the fact it has a soft lining.. straight away that tells me that these people who make it/designed it are fussy and its of a higher quality.

Tiana: I liked wearing it. It was soft and smooth and not scratchy.  I liked the feel of the dress when I was walking

Sizing:
Did the dress fit your daughter well? Was it too big or two small? If it didn’t fit well please describe your daughter’s shape and where it needs adjusting.
Elizabeth:  I would say its slightly generous which is good thing.  There is nothing worse than small sizes!  The fact that there are adjustable straps is good, so she will get plenty of wear from it. length wise was
about right…

Tiana:  Fits ok I didn’t like the zip.  would be a bit better a little shorter though mum didn’t think so
.
Washability:
Did the dress wash well?
Elizabeth: Washed well by hand, didn’t know what perborate was (lol) so had me looking it up!! I thought the white motives may not wash up easily, but they seemed ok,  the hardest thing was ironing the underskirt as … but I hate ironing at the best of times.  Washing instructions were clear and easy to read. Good sized print too.

Value:
The white Annabel dress and the Blue and White Ondine dress are priced at $74.95 and the Blue Jasmine Dress is priced at $59.95. Do these prices represent good value? What price would you be prepared to pay for them?
Price point is good for the quality garment and the fact it is organic too.  The dress is extremely well made, quality fabric and lined.  There is so much out there that is higher priced-end and less quality.

Ondine Dress
By Elizabeth and Tiana
 .
 the design?
Elizabeth:The first thing that caught my attention was the gorgeous colour.  A definitely eye attracting, soft, feminine colour. Next was the adjustable straps, I so need this with Tiana and its amazing how many don’t have them. The shirred back was a hit, allowing the room and give and there is always something special about shirring.  Having a lined dress of such high quality fabric appeals, as does the softness of the cotton.
.
It appeared not to be restrictive as well and looks “easy wearing” and very “pretty in it”. I know if Tiana feels comfortable in clothes, it portrays in her facial expressions, body language and how long she will wear it.  This was easy… she walked about… popped up the decorations for Christmas, played the piano, read books and played. Knowing its organic is a definite pleaser for me as I am passionate about organic and natural fibres. As my website supports Australian and New Zealand designers in baby and kids fashion, knowing its Australian designed was a hit.

Tiana:  I love the colour and I like the white flowers scattered. I have a dress with flowers all on the bottom and looks weird I think.  This is better. I could walk around easy, but it was great when I was sitting down and when I read my book on the floor. It was easy to move in. I liked the little blue cornflower tag on the dress - gorgeous logo.
