The Winter 2010 Tea Princess has arrived and its TOTALLY GORGEOUS.  However,  like always, these girls designer clothing items are sought after.  The colours, sizes and styles may run out quickly… so be sure you get in and reserve yours, or you may be disappointed.

I dont know about your little girl. but mine loves the tops with comfortable bottoms and her wardrobe is so full of leggings, tights and pants.  The skinny cord pants are an instant hit with many of you and YES… does have the adjustable waist inside  (many have asked this question), the white leggings with wide lace trim are an essential this season… you need to have at least one staple in your collection.  The harem pants are the softest, most comfortable around, and totally “IN”.  The lace tights or leggings are just walking out the door… so I apologise if your size has gone… these are the most stunning and so soft.  Yep…a must have in the Tea Princess designer wear I am afraid.

 Peekaboo Magazine is a Brisbane based mgazine that is fast becong sought after in other areas too.  Simpy stunning is this magazine, Bianca has done a brilliant job. Everyone is talking about it… everyone wants a copy. 

WHO is Peekaboo?

wanted to demonstrate that Brisbane has a wealth of

experienced and educated people with a great array of places to

make your families’ memories. A crucial part of the idea was to

create an easy to use map/directory of all of our Brisbane

based boutique children’s stores, activities, mother/parent

groups, family friendly cafes/restaurants, playgrounds,

education facilities and so on. So with that in mind Peekaboo

Magazine was conceived and launched on November 1 2009

  I am so in love with this publication,  Its fresh, and very stylish.  The articles are extremely well written and captivating. I thoroughly enjoyed the article “Urban Harmony” pg 20.  I think having my own daughter who takes an interest in my business helped make the article so meaningful.  I really look forward to visiting when I come up next.   Also great to see the article about food allergies (pg42) especially as Easter approaches.  Must be so hard at times for the whole family. Thanks… I have a better appreciation now.

The middle spread (pg 26) was AMAZING.  I now have a map where heaps of places to visit when we come up for our next holiday  (July).  The parks are great stopping places as we love picnics and riding our bikes… but it was the shops that had my interest.  Wow so many gorgeous ones… was great to be able to look up all the websites of these places and know which ones to pop into along my travels.  THANKS!  La Toriana was featured in the online section (pg 32) … THANK YOU so much for including us!!!

Tiana loved the map… she was lying on the mat looking at all the pages and then was using it as a PIRATE game with her leggo…. 

“ I have never heard of a pirate jumping ship and then riding a horse”,  I said,

she quickly spun around, looked at me and replied… “well how else are they to get their supplies from town? ”

 La Toriana has been honoured too in having Naomi take photo’s for our website, and they are stunning. We hope to see more of Naomi’s work at La Toriana very soon… so keep an eye out.  I am ever so honoured to be working with such a gorgeous person and photographer.  Give her a call and book in your family portraits too… cant wait til she does ours!!!

Honestly, Peekaboo Magazine is a great magazine.  I sat there and read it for hours and drooled our the photo’s, the many gorgeous products for babies, kids and mums, and have a whole new appreciation for shops, people and places in the Brisbane area.  There are great recipes, amazing product features, inspirational stories, competitions and more

 If you haven’t got a copy… make sure you subscribe… I HAVE!   Peekaboo Magazine is going into its 3rd edition, and  just know its going to keep getting better and better.  Well done Bianca.  Its a great publication and love reading about whats in the area….  hhhmmm… need to branch out now and do a Victorian edition! !

Just want to thank everyone who responded to our call out about your Christening day, and to help share some of your special day.  There is so much inspiration to other mums who may be thinking what to do for their own little baby’s christening.

 - We had her baptised at Cathedral where we also were married

 - Used a candle from our wedding and some beading from my bouquet to make her baptism candle

  - Dressed her in a non-traditional outfit of crème/gold and blue satin ruffle dress with a fur trim cardigan - absolutely stunning outfit which I hope for her to treasure forever!!

- Robs brother and sister and my two sisters were god parents (although one of my sisters couldn’t be there as she was travelling around Australia)

- Invited immediate family and close friends who will always be in Leni’s life for the celebration

- A lunch was held afterwards where we feasted on great food, good company and yummy cake that was especially designed and made for Leni

- Some  presents she received was Bunnykins feeding sets, a charm bracelet that spells her name with the charms, swarovski crystal rocking horse, silver cutlery with her name engraved on them. We have also nicknamed her ‘diva’ and Caitlin (one of her god parents) tracked down a cabbaged patch doll with ‘diaper diva’ on it’s t-shirt and changed its birth certificate to Leni. Very cute and something she will hold onto forever!

 Thanks Bec… I have to say… the Christening gown is totally gorgeous!!  Definately an heirloom christening gown… where ever did you get it?   Thanks again for sending in your pics from the La Toriana facebook call out… and certainly lots of inspiration here for others.

Emily’s christening was at St Therese’s Parish in Edmonton, Cairns QLD same place my husband and I got married in 5 and a half years ago.

Emily Louise (aka Emmi-Lou) is our little miracle angel after 5 years of trying to conceive with her and 4 cycles of IVF we conceived with her naturally.

She is 4 and a half months old and has made me smile everyday since she was born!

Thanks so much for sharing this special day with us.  I cannot help but keep looking at the top photo… I dont knw if its a professional baby portrait… but my word its a stunner of a photo.  The pensive, relaxed look… so warm and relaxed… beautiful!

The dress too… I am so loving this baby Christening gown… did you make it?  where did you get it?  The antique vintage lace on the baby dress is such a stand out winner… and of course as many of you will know I am a huge fan of baby pearl bracelets… this makes the whole Christening gown look complete.

 Lamington Angels

I jut love these cute lamington angels.  They are always a hit with the whole family! 

These look great at any birthday party and celebrations like baby Christenings.What I love best is the fact you can quickly and easily make them and they look so great!   No icing techniques to do, but can make them look different by making them “angel wings”, “top hats” or Sponges.   mmm YUMMY.  The kids love to help with this one…   why not grab one of the amazing kids aprons from La Toriana ~ online baby/kids shopping boutique.

 INGREDIENTS

Vanilla buttercake:
90g butter, softened
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup (110g) caster sugar
2 eggs
1 cup (150g) self-raising flour
2 tablespoons milk

Chocolate icing:
10g butter
1/3 cup (80ml) milk
2 cups (320g) icing sugar
1/4 cup (25g) cocoa powder

Decorations:
1 cup (80g) desiccated coconut
1/4 cup (100g) raspberry jam
1/2 cup (125ml) thickened cream, whipped

 METHOD

1. Preheat oven to moderate (180°
C/160°
C fan-forced). Line 6-hole  or 12-hole standard muffin pan with paper cases.

2. Beat butter, extract, sugar, eggs, flour and milk in small bowl with electric mixer on low speed until ingredients are just combined. Increase speed to medium, beat until mixture is changed to a paler colour.

3. Divide mixture among cases; smooth surface.

4. Bake large cakes about 25 minutes, small cakes about 20 minutes. Turn cakes onto wire rack to cool.

5. Make chocolate icing.

6. Remove cases from cakes. Dip cakes in icing; drain off excess, toss cakes in coconut. Place cakes on wire rack to set.

7. Cut cakes as desired; fill with jam and cream.

Chocolate icing
Melt butter in medium heatproof bowl over medium saucepan of simmering water. Stir in milk and sifted icing sugar and cocoa until icing is a coating consistency.
