My boys had a wonderful time doing finger painting recently.  
 
 

 

 I got some non-toxic finger paint and some cardboard and cheap canvasses from the local $2 shop and set it all up in the bath.
They were able to paint the bath and the tiles as much as they wanted. we did some prints on cardboard which we can fold into birthday cards. very easy and lots of fun.
I did also make sure i got some lovely footprints on a canvas too. then we had fun washing it all up. I got some great photos along the way!

ANOTHER GREAT TIP FROM SHELLIE 

i buy a yummy pesto from the local market and freeze it in small portions so that on those days where i have nothing prepared for lunch , i can easily cook up some pasta (i always keep gluten free animal pasta in the cupboard) and just toss the pesto through it.
(the frozen pesto defrosts quickly in the cooked pasta and also cools the pasta a bit at the same time). easy peasy quick meal for a stressful day, when your brain is not working and the kids are hungry and you can;t think of what to cook for lunch! it also does not create many dishes!
