Kids Fashion Shoot ~ “On Location” with Bendigo Magazine

La Toriana  has had the honour of being part of  the BENDIGO MAGAZINE and the kids fashion shoot and do a “behind the scenes” blog post.  We were lucky enough to supply to the designer children’s clothing from La Toriana for this cute little girl.

The fashion stylist (Esther) chose the stunning Winter 2010 Tea Princess  pink bow beanie, Harem pants , and the boat neck white lace top also from Tea Princess.  Everything was worked out well, and you can easily see the team work flowed with ease to help create the look for the magazine they were looking for.

A very professional team and such a pleasure to work with.

Its always hard for some kids when doing a shoot for the first time.  There are camera’s, lights, people, a strange environment and not knowing what to expect can be very daunting.  Esther is a delight in helping make the kids feel at ease with her friendly nature and her humour.  The lollipops help too afterwards… and she even snuck one to Tiana  (yep, my assistant, when I wasn’t looking)

(just check out that gorgeous smile from Esther (below left).

David Fields the photographer is super talented and really knows how to get the best out of the kids.  Our little model was a little shy and timid, but David soon worked a little magic and had her smiling and feeling so much more comfortable.  He takes the time to chat with the kids, get to know them and have a little fun along the way…..

he makes it all look so easy!

The finished product in the mag is beautiful (below), and I am sure this little girls mum would have been so proud, just as I was with her representing La Toriana and the Tea Princess collection this Winter.

Kids fashion shoots can go really smoothly, or can go pear shaped.  This session went extremely well.  Shows with an experienced team, relaxed atmosphere and professionals who know what they are doing… all falls into place beautifully.

If you haven’t already, you MUST check out the latest Bendigo magazine.

David takes some photo’s whilst the parents of the kids, the  Sarah (editor), Esther and Maggie all are there to help ensure everything goes well.  David takes it all in his stride and the kids all have a ball waiting for their turn.

Creating a vintage look for kids fashion

Published by Elizabeth under Kids and Fashion

This week the Bendigo Magazine came out and its the best ever

Here are some  photo’s taken from the Bendigo Magazine Photo shoot for La Toriana.    La Toriana have a few products showcased and we are thrilled with the shots and images.  Here  The images from the photo shoot for our advert with one of the magazines photographers…  Alison from Lollypop Photography.  There are a couple of my own thrown in here too…. though I am sure you can tell the great ones are hers!

A little about the children’s designer outfits modelled and showcased.

**NEW**   La Toriana introduces Constitution to our online baby/children’s boutique.  Constitution is an Australian business and has the most delightful hats for all the whole family.

These children’s designer hats are vintage inspired head wear from Consititution, and are  amazing.  Super quality, unique style and so adorable for kids.  These  infant hats are not like anything else I have seen about and the amount of comments from the shoot and responses from the photos have been amazing.

Inspired by all things vintage, these kids hair accessories go well with the designer children’s clothing range available online at La Toriana.

You have to agree Lollypop Photography  images are stunning!

My favourite of the Constitution designer label is the Vintage Boston Brocade children’s cap and the duckbill peak cap with detachable rosette.  These are  an ideal accessory that goes well with the Tea Princess range of designer dresses for a more classy and elegant look, but looks striking with pants and tops from their collection as well.  These vintage inspired children’s hats are ideal all year round.  Tran seasonal and compliments many different season children’s fashions.  Yep, the accessories are back in vogue, and little ones must be seen with their hats, scarfs, coats, capes and jewellery to complete their designer clothing this Winter.

Skye wears the Tea Princess ivory stretch top by Tea Princess and the beige cord pants.  To compliment the outfit accessories were the beautiful Princess Allure jewellery and Constitution duckbill hat.

One of my favourites is the Tea princess smock dress worn at the very top image  by Emmerson with the Tea Princess leggings.  To complete the outfit Emmy wears the constitution Boston brocade hat and jewellery by Princess Allure.

Children’s fashion today is quite eclectic.  There are so many styles and looks that there is something to suit everyone.  I am a fan of all things vintage, ”girly” and lacy.  These images capture the very essence I was hoping for.  I told the photographer I was looking for a “vintage style” look for this edition and I think together we pulled it off.   The clothing, the location and photography all worked well together to create this look.   I am very happy with it all.  Check out tomorrow for more of whats “IN”  the mag  as well as some behind the scenes shots.  Thanks so much Alison!

The Bendigo Magazine photo shoot was with some gorgeous models wearing Tea Princess, Constitution, Princess Allure, Bethany’s Child, and Three Little Tree.  I loved the old ruins in the centre of town and was ideal for this shoot.  The rustic, overgrown gardens, falling down abandoned building were a complimenting contrast to the sweet, soft girly items from the above designers.

A special thank you to Skye, Emmerson and Dylan for being such wonderful models!  See later this week for more on the Bendigo Magazine fashion stories and La Toriana’s products.  We also have some behind the scenes shots…. you’ll love!

You can easily see how well the brocade BOSTON hat matches perfectly in with the Tea Princess Smock dress and white leggings on Emmerson above.  Its a classic, elegant and stunning  little girls designer clothing outfit.

Dylan (below) wears the Tea Princess ivory beanie, boat neck long sleeve tee and the pink harem pants.  The Pink Junket hat is so sweet, and gorgeous on little girls its going to be a definite hit this coming season and into Summer.  The lace detail and adorned with brass studs is a gorgeous look for little girls.

Skye below looks dreamy and so elegant and “girly” in the Tea Princess cape, leggings with attached skirt, tulle headband and also in the pink cardigan and tulle skirt.

After a quick change and move down to the grassed area of Rosalind Park, we all had some fun. Three Little  Trees, Tea Princess, Knuffle Kid, Bethany’s Child all look stunning.

Dillon here wears the long sleeve Tee from Three Little Trees, Harem Pants from Tea Princess and headband from Tea Princess. Emmy below wears vintage inspired antique rose from Bethany’s Child and Skye wears Princess Allure clip.

WE all had a fun and wonderful day and I am so happy with the Bendigo Magazines photographer, Alison from Lollypop photography your pics together with mine came out just perfect!

I do I do (Part 3) THE Fashion Parade

Published by Elizabeth under Kids and Fashion

How gorgeous!

there were flashes from Photographers.  Smiles and “ooh’s and ahh’s”  from the crowd.  There were envious stares from the other couple girls in traditional flower girl dresses and there were many people asking  “where can I get that?”   There were sparkling eyes and dancing feet, giggles and everyone was on a high.

It was of course…

The  I do I do Bridal Fashion Parade

and the La Toriana models stole the show!!

Ok… we have introduced you to the La Toriana models,  Matilda, Innes, Bridget and Emerson… who recently were involved int he Ido I do wedding expo and Fashion Parade.  You read Part 1, and Part 2,  you have seen the girls being made up hair and make up… and in some of the outfits back stage…..

so here… is the amazing catwalk fashion parade by these starlets, and wow… what professionals they were!  Our little ladies were seen amongst the beautiful wedding gowns that came from near and far and were modelled by gorgeous catwalk models.  The music, lights, stage and photographers were all dazzling to the girls and there was not one bit of nerves!!  They all looked beautiful and ever so pretty!

Yes, the gorgeous girls did steal the show at this event… look past into the crowd and see the audience beaming and absolutely loving it!  So many people commented later that they girls and the outfits were amazing.

  • “So refreshing to see something different” was one comment,
  • “stunning… exceptional” was another
  • “The Best fashion parade seen here to date” and another
  • ” the traditional white flower girls are so old hat”  and another,
  • “where can I get THAT WHOLE outfit” was  from a couple others!!

Matilda, Innes, Bridget and Emerson were amazing.

The girls definately loved it all and I cannot wait to have another photo shoot or fashion parade with them again!  Many thanks to the professional photographers Annie Warren and Rikki Pool who took photo’s from the front of the stage… and if you look closely… you can see me in the pic below left taking photo’s from behind and back stage!

so… without further ado… here they are….

Fashions and current trends  change with time, we all know that…and with bridal fashions and  trends changing in  wedding gowns, accessories and venues, I wondered how much emphasis or thought is taken into the junior bridesmaids and flower girls.

We often hear the big magazines talking about the wedding dresses, their current trends in fashion, and inspirations, we hear about the changes in fashions for the Mothers of the Brides and even the guys get a mention…. but very, VERY rarely do we hear about the changes in the current trends in  children’s fashion for the junior bridesmaids and flower girls.

Forever the traditional white satin long dresses for little girls has been seen in so many weddings.  Rarely has there been a change.

Brides are savvy and eclectic these days, and are looking for something different.

As with their own wedding dress, they want something beautiful, stylish, unique and complimenting for their whole bridal party too.  Many brides are now looking for something “different” for the junior members of the bridal party.  Something  away from the traditional white satin flower girls dresses, something that the girls them selves will feel special in and be able to wear again and are cost effective.

Yep, gone are days where the little girls are wearing the stiff, restricting, long white dresses in weddings.  Sure, there are many who do like this look, but more and more are looking for something unique.  Lets face it… pop a little girl in a restricting, long, constraining dress and she is most likely to feel uncomfortable, not be so co operative.

Pop her into something more flowing, comfortable, and they are more likely to be relaxed, happy and entertaining.  That’s what weddings are all about isn’t it?  There is nothing like a natural smile from an onlooker at a wedding watching a pretty little flower girl twirling, laughing and happy.

There are some gorgeous designer labels in childrens fashions that are unique, boutique and ideal for many different styles of weddings.  They are not necessarily aimed at weddings, nor come with that “bridal” price tag.

This is what many brides in 2010 are looking for.

No, I am not talking the “chain store” type dresses that are made for the masses, though these too have a place in many weddings.  Brides want something more unique.  Limited edition styles, hand made, smaller designer children’s clothing collections and something so different to what they have seen around.

Lets face it… most brides want a “wow factor” at their wedding… and having the flower girls in gorgeous stylish and unique special occasion dresses is all part of it.

These days there are so many different styles of weddings, and so many different fashion trends catering to them.  Its so refreshing to see that brides are thinking more laterally,  and with their hearts  and seeing other options away from the traditional.  Its great to see that the flower girls and junior bridesmaids are now being noticed in the fashion arena along with the rest of the bridal party!

This year many brides are looking towards colour lace and ribbons in their junior bridesmaid outfits.  Twirling skirts, pettiskirts, antique dresses, tops and shrugs.

With the ever changing styles in weddings today, flower girl and junior bridesmaid dresses are coming to the forefront in colour, texture and styles.  Just like the brides!
